When we left we made no commitments of how far we would or would not go !!

But we are only about 4 hours from "going all the way".

We made it to our destination for tonight - Kamloops, BC.
(Hell, we've gone this far, we're thinking we could be in Vancouver if we wanted to tomorrow….. who knows !! 🤭)

We found an awesome place to stay.
It's called the Plaza Hotel. It's a 96 year old hotel that had been renovated but kept its 96 yr old charm !!

You could never find this in today's construction. The elevator was so cool !

It seems CP Rail also plays a big part in the town.
Since we've left Thunder Bay I have never seen so many trains, running in both directions, and being sooo long with engines in the front, middle an end of the train !

Revelstoke

What else would you do on a Saturday morning but go to a farmers market.
And the best market we've seen on the road so far was here in Revelstoke. It was great, and covered a lot the downtown area. It was a great vibe !

The town itself was a really nice place.
However when I stopped and look at the Real Estate prices in town, well, I was sidewalked, I mean floored !! (I little humour there for ya 🥸)
Very expensive.

Still a nice town though !!

Roger’s Pass

On the way from Holden to Kamloops we were in/on the Roger's Pass (still on the TCH).
The ups and downs along the drive were sometimes spectacular, even if it was a bit of a cloudy day.
But once we hit the summit on Roger's Pass we had to pull over.

We made it to Golden for the night.
We took a little run around town and then headed to the hotel.
(And I added a pic of the Kicking Horse Pass bridge that we had crossed earlier today.)

Well, the 'Lake' stop may not have been what we thought, the trip from Calgary to Golden, BC wasn't disappointing !!🚗

Leaving Calgary Friday morning we got to Lake Louise just before lunch.
The area was much smaller than I had envisioned and it was very busy.
We tried driving up to the lake but got turned around because the upper parking lot was full.
The only option was a parking lot about 5 kms away to park and then catch a bus.
Neither of us wanted to get on a bus to go look at a lake ! Haa !

And we are off !

And that was it for Calgary.

It was a great idea to stay here and use it as a base camp for a while.

I'd definitely do it again.

We turned the town upside down !

But now it's time to turn out the lights !!
