Kidding aside, I did find this monument both interesting and amazing for the workmanship !

It's of a guy named George Emerson, one of the original pioneers of the area who had a vision for the area.

And in the news in Alberta lately is the story about the premier (Danielle Smith) and her husband selling their diner.

Well, apparently that's in High River as well !

True story folks ! Couldn't make that up !

Today we went for a little run outside of Calgary.

And we're off on a day trip.
First Canmore, AB and then Banff,AB

Canmore was a great town to visit.
So much so I didn't take many pics.
It was mostly walking the downtown touristy area and enjoying the ski resort vibe of the street and the homes in the area.

A relaxing day

Monday was an easy day. No driving. Just relaxing.
That said, I think we put in about 18,000 steps !
( no need to rush After all, we're here until Friday morning! Ha!)
We went around downtown and visited Prince Park. What a great island park right on the edge of the downtown area.

Inglewood

The area our BnB is in is called Inglewood.
It was the first area that settlers established way back when in the 1800s, prior to CP coming through.
Today, the road we're on (9th Ave SE) is becoming an up and coming trendy restaurant, coffee shop and shops in general area. Quite a nice vibe.
And it's about 10 min walk to the riverfront park where you can get on a path and walk all the way downtown or about 30 min to the edge of downtown. Within an hour you're in the heart of the downtown area.
