Cheticamp Church

St Pierre's Church

The previous pics didn't do justice to the church in Cheticamp.
I hope this one is better.
It was amazing.

The Last Walk

Yes, before we call it a night we went for one last walk.
We didn't see "Tatoo" or "The Light of Day" (ha!) But a couple of good pics !

St Pierre's Church

I think the pictures speak for themselves  on this one.

Cheticamp

What a great place to go for a walk on a sunny afternoon.
Between the places to stay and the restaurants there are no shortages.
But you can beat a long walk

Its ......

Last Stop Today

After the Margaree Valley

Our next scenic stop was another roadside pull-over.

The Margaree Valley

After coffee and a great breakfast sandwich we headed out toward Cheticamp.it was a nice peaceful ride until we got to the Margaree Valley - what a scenic area.

The pics say all.

Mabou

It was a great day for a ride.
But it was also time for a coffee.

Port Hood is a nice town, nice sandy beaches, but at 10 in the morning coffee shops are hard to come by !

But at Mabou - yes !

Great breakfast and coffee

On the Road

After leaving Antigonish our first stop was ......the Causeway !
Yes, the bridge was open and barge was going through.

Mother Webb's

Before we start the days entry I have to tell you about our meal at Mother Webb's in Antigonish.

After a great meal and great service we spoke to the older lady at the door who was wishing us a good night.
After a chat about the weather and doing the Cabot Trail she talked about whether we were going clockwise or counter clockwise.
I think she said likes clockwise which I agreed, especially on the bike.
Finally as we were about to leave she said "hold on for a minute" and headed toward the back of the restaurant.
Karen and I just looked at each other and before you knew it she was back.
She handed us two beautiful shot glasses and wished us well !
It was quite nice.

A Week Off !! Let's do the Cabot Trail !!

So late today we headed toward the Cabot Trail.

Our first stop for the night was Antigonish.

Tufts Cove

Tufts Cove

Earlier today Steph and I were on on a coffee tour, running around town to see what was going on.

We checked out the harbor area where we saw someone trying to hook a battle ship - he could not have been very successful though, I'm sure it would have hit the news !

But driving in and out of small lanes along the harbourfront in Dartmouth we came across a great find, an amazing find.

In the shadows of those 3 orange and white smoke towers, down this small lane,  was a sign that read "Tufts Cove Cemetery".

It is a very well kept cemetery with headstones that pre-date 1900. And many of those headstones bear the surnames "Tufts".

It's worth the visit.

Labour Day Weekend #3

After a drive along the coast we headed to Shelbourne. A nice town with a cool downtown.

The first thing someone did was sit back and take a break. But as you see, she didn't sit back that far !

It was a beautiful hot day to walk around downtown along the water before we called it a day and headed home !

Labour Day Weekend

After Liverpool it was along the coast to the Summerville and Port Moulton areas. The beaches were awesome !

Labour Day Weekend

It was another day trip weekend.
We started out heading to Liverpool and stopped at the downtown park for lunch along the waterfront.

The August Catch-up

From downtown Dartmouth, the annual Agricola Street walk, to Mahone Bay. It was mostly day trips.

The Annual Trip

Yes, we always take a trip to PEI.
This year it was the end of August
