After a run through the town of Abingdon on Saturday morning we hit the highway and headed toward the Gatlinburg, Tennessee area.
It started as a nice drive and a decent day for travelling.
Gatlinburg is just past Pigeon Forge and close to the home of Dolly Parton (Seviorville, we believe).
Driving through Pigeon Forge we could not have imagined the number of fast food outlets, arcades, amusement parks and facilities ! It had to be all of Five miles long !
Gatlinburg was just as busy, and we were amazed at the traffic and people for such a small place. It turned out to be much more commercialized than we would have imagined. Saturday night we headed downtown for supper and to see what was going on. We didn't get back til late (and hence the delay in my post !)
