Well, we made it to just north of Harrisburg, Pa on Wed night. It was a start and stop day getting to Harrisburg, trying to stay out of the rain and behind the weather system.
One thing I did find over the past couple of weeks is a good website to have if you are travelling. Go to weather.com and click on their simulated weather radar map. From our experience it is up to date by the minute ! It's accurate ! And, it's good for Atlantic Canada as well as the states! Check it out for those long road trips !
So, Thursday the objective was to get to Maine and hang out for a break before heading home. Mission accomplished !
We hit route 78 to the 287 around New Jersey and New York, across the Tappan Zee Bridge to White Plains, up thru Connecticut (the most dangerous drivers we came across), head towards the 495 in Mass. to the I-95 to Maine. Sounds easy, eh ? And that's the short version ! Ha ! Actually, it was that bad at all.
We got to Wells, Maine after 9 hrs. We only stopped for gas, lunch and the traffic in Hartford and Worchester in Mass. ( it was 4:30 traffic ). A good ride with good weather. We found ourselves a nice little cottage for the night and we were all set !
