It's great to be back !

I think the pics above say it all.

1 ) The miles we travelled - all 4789 miles or 7662 kms !

2 ) how good it felt to get home to see Mike, Geoff and Steph ( she was at work when we got there )

3 ) the fact we were fortunate enough to do this together after 33 years together !

4 ) and to now be able to sit back, relax, and ......talk about the great memories and good time we had ! (I may have stopped at the souvenir shop as I left a tour I was on)

The scenery was great. The areas we travelled were so much fun to see. But the people we met and chatted with along the way was amazing.

From the guys at Bangor Motorsport who put us in right away Monday morning so we could get on the road, and to Rick, the sales guy at the trailer dealer across the road, who, on Saturday afternoon, called the guys he knew at the bike shop to see if they could help us out.

The German couple who came over talking to us in the Shenandoah National Park who were fulfilling a life dream of travelling North America in their motor home. They went from Nfld to BC, up to Alaska and down along the California coast, across, the mid west USA and now in Virginia for the last two weeks after a 5 month stay. They were heading to Baltimore to ship their truck back home. They had tried to visit every national park along the way !

To the couple at the Grand Ole Opry who asked Karen to help her out with the iPhone she had ( but was a little confused with - I was NO help. They were travelling to California with their trailer, taking their time along the way.

The waitress at Shoneys in Knoxville who convinced us to go to Nashville. She made us laugh so much and could lift anyone's spirits ! "Not that I'm sayin y'all alcoholics...but y'all gotta see Printer's Row"

To the couple who passed us on their Harley with the New York plates. As the older guy passed us he looked over, smiled and gave us the thumbs up ! The sticker on the back of his trunk said
"Not All Wanderers Are Lost !" So Perfect for us at on our trip !!!

The people in Tennessee, West Virginia And Kentucky who are so easy going and friendly. It was so refreshing....even the driving, we found everyone seemed so courteous. Especially the truck drivers on the highway.

To the people who would just honk their horns or wave as they drove by....

What was also so amazing were the number of people who came along and wanted to chat. They all thought it was so awesome what we were doing. There was a definite pattern though - the older the person, the more encouraging they were and thought how great it was to be doing it on a motorcycle ! It kinda makes you think.

I guess you could say we had a good time and that we were both lucky enough to be given the time off to do this. I'm sure as I wrap this up (and sit downstairs in the rec room in my lazy-boy next to my.....) I'll think of many other little things I should have mentioned !

As the sticker said, Not All Wanderers Are Lost, and when we head to ..................
