August 12 th. Nashville and the Opry

It started out pretty relaxing on Tuesday. Breakfast, coffee by the pool, a walk in the neighbourhood, and then we were off to the Grand Ole Opry.

We headed out right after lunch so we could check out this huge mall that was in the area ( air conditioned ) and go see the Opryland Hotel.
The mall was huge, no doubt as it is the mall for the area they tell us.
The hotel next door, spectacular to see. The whole hotel surrounds an indoor garden with a glass roof. Quite a price of architecture.

At 6:00 it was time to head to the Opry House.

A great show. Aaron Tippin was the only name I new of the 7 acts that performed. The final act seemed to be the most popular - Big Town Little Town. They were pretty good.

The Opry has about 3 or 4 acts that are regulars and the rest of the spots are filled with well known and unknown performers alike. It's great.

Like the time we were at Ceasar's Palace in Vegas and the 2 ladies next to us were from Mount Pearl, the 2 couples in front of us were from Ontario. What are the chances.

Above are pics of the Opry House we were in. It's the second home of the Opry and was flooded along with a lot of Nashville back in 2010 when the river overflowed its banks. The other pic is one of the huge wooded main entrances. It looks like a church entrance, and to country fans it probably is !
